Almost every game of PSG, this season in the Champions League, gives rise to incidents. This was still the case, Wednesday evening, with the cracking of dozens of smoke bombs by Parisian supporters in the stand reserved for them at Juventus Stadium. According to our information, a disciplinary case will be opened by UEFA to sanction these actions.
Palestinian flags against Maccabi Haifa
It is added to the one already opened by the European body after PSG-Haifaon October 25, for “use of fireworks” and “provocative messages of an offensive nature” in the stands of the Parisian enclosure. At the very beginning of the meeting, a dozen small Palestinian flags had flowered in the Auteuil bend. Then, at the start of the second half, the Collectif Ultras Paris took out a bigger flag of Palestine and unfurled a banner “Gaza exists, Gaza resists, Free Palestine”. This disciplinary case, like that for the cracked smoke bombs in Turin, must be studied at the end of the month by the UEFA Disciplinary Committee.
Paris has already been sanctioned this season following the first leg (September 6) between PSG and Juve. The Disciplinary Committee of the European body imposed, on October 11, 62,250 euro fine at the Parisian club, including 34,250 euros for the smoke bombs, 18,000 euros for “blocking of spectator traffic lanes” and 10,000 euros for “provocative message”.
