While the PSG staff are annoyed that the departing players have still not left, a solution is about to be found with Ander Herrera. An agreement between the capital club and the 33-year-old Spanish international midfielder (2 selections) is about to be concluded, allowing the latter to be released from his last two years of contract.
The player’s agent and Antero Henrique have seriously closed their positions in recent hours. Negotiations are continuing but Herrera, on whom Christophe Galtier does not count at all, should well receive a large part of his remaining remuneration.
Absent in Japan and with the undesirables since
Arrived free, in 2019, from Manchester United, the former midfielder of Athletic Bilbao had never managed to establish himself as a starter at PSG, even if he had signed several good performances to the point that Mauricio Pochettino, at the start of last season, had used it extensively. But the Parisian project changed this summer and the contours of the workforce with it.
Herrera had not participated in the pre-season camp in Japan and he had been training with the undesirable group for several weeks. His “release”, which could take place within forty-eight hours, should be followed by a return to Bilbao, his training club.
