Charles Leclerc, author of the pole position at the GP of France: “A magnificent team work”

Charles Leclerc (Ferrari, pole position): “It was a great round for me. We were able to put everything together this weekend to do a great lap. I also received help from Carlos (Sainz), it was a wonderful team effort. It would have been much tighter if we hadn’t used this strategy. I hope we will be in the race for victory tomorrow (Sunday). After Q1, I was quite surprised at the pace we had, everything lit up in Q3 and it’s a nice surprise for us. The long stints have been good this weekend, we’ll see how things go. »

Max Verstappen (Red Bull, 2nd on the grid) : “Free practice and qualifying are not the same thing. It was more complicated than I expected but I think we have a decent car for the race. We are very fast on the straights, we will have to capitalize on that. The Ferraris are again very fast too. »

Sergio Perez (Red Bull, 3rd): “I was nowhere all weekend, I suffered a lot, it was my most difficult week until these qualifications and I am happy to have found the rhythm. I will try to fight with the cars in front of me during the race. The Ferraris are clearly very solid this week. »
