Mehdi Zerkane (23) is no longer from Bordeaux. the Girondins, Ligue 2 leaders, announced on Monday that they had reached an agreement with the attacking midfielder for the termination of his contract, ending in June 2024. The Algerian international had recently returned to France, after having interrupted his loan at OFI Crete, 11th in the Greek championship, without having played a single minute, according to South West.

Zerkane was the last “lofter” to leave the Girondins de Bordeaux this summer. In three years on the banks of the Garonne, the attacking midfielder has played 33 Championship games and one in the Coupe de France. In the Bordeaux jersey, Zerkane experienced the joys of the Algerian selection (1 selection, November 12, 2020 against Zimbabwe). He was kicked out of the Girondins professional group in January 2022. He was blamed behavior problems.

The international arrived from AS Monaco in 2019. Zerkane had his key period under the orders of Jean-Louis Gasset during the 2020-2021 season.
