The day after their first loss of the season (against Miami), the Portland Trail Blazers received second bad news. Damian Lillard, their star point guard hit against the Heat, will be sidelined for a minimum of one to two weeks with a minor left calf muscle injury. The information was announced by Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Delivered in time for the road trip?
Lillard was out for good five minutes from the end of the third quarter on Wednesday against Miami. The leader, who averages 31 points at the start of the season, explained that he felt discomfort in the calf before the match. Who has therefore become too important to continue playing.
If he’s out for a week, he’ll only miss two home games. On the other hand, a longer absence could be costly for the Trail Blazers who will begin a rich road trip of six consecutive away matches next week.
