It’s the end of a long suspense at Ducati. The official team of the Italian manufacturer had already announced the departure of Jack Miller, who signed with KTM for next season, but it remained to be seen who would be Francesco Bagnaia’s teammate in 2023. His choice finally fell on Enea Bastianini (24), who was in competition with Jorge Martin (24), the pilot of Pramac.
Three Grands Prix won this season
The Italian team finally made the most logical choice according to the performance of the season. Currently engaged with Gresini, where he rides a 2021 Ducati, Bastianini is in 6th place in the World Championship standings thanks to its three Grands Prix won (Qatar, Americas, France). If he has experienced a bad patch since June, the Italian has a better record than Martin, who has had two second places.
Therefore, the Spaniard will stay at Pramac, where he will continue to team up with Frenchman Johann Zarco, in a position to extend with the Ducati satellite team. Martin will have the same machine there as the one used by the official team.
