Esport – Dota 2: Tundra wins The International

The International 2022, the eleventh edition of the World Championships Dota 2, ended this Sunday morning in Singapore with the success of Tundra Esports against Team Secret, in the final (3-0). A well-deserved success, acquired after a dominant course from the group stage.

The finalists, two Western formations, took quite a large advantage over their Asian counterparts during this competition. Since the alternation between 2011 and 2016, the year of the last title won by a Chinese team, Europe in particular has mastered the debates. The Scandinavians of Team Liquid also finished on the third step of the podium in Singapore, land where Dota 2 is acclaimed.

Fourth, Team Aster achieved the best performance in China ahead of… PSG. Considered one of the favorites of the tournament, his Chinese team, managed in association with the club LGD, finalist in 2018 and 2021failed in fifth place.

If the game is little followed in France – which had no representative this season, Sébastien “Ceb” Debs (double crowned in 2018 and 2019), in the staff of OG, except -, The International remains one of the major tournaments on the esports calendar. This edition, however, gives an impression of a turning point. After a steady increase in prize money to reach more than 40 million dollars last year, the prize money this year amounted to “only” 18 million.
