Esport – League of Legends: G2 goes to the semi-finals

No surprise this Saturday evening, during the second meeting of the first round of play offs of the LEC, the European Championship of League of Legends. Defending champion G2 Esports beat Misfits 3-1 to take on Rogue – winner of MAD Lions on Friday – in the semi-finals next week. The favorite to his own estate is also guaranteed to travel to Malmö in early September for the finals (See table).

Vincent “Vetheo” Berrié, the only French player still in contention in this competition, and Misfits, however, put up a good resistance to the best team on the continent. After a first round easily won by the latter, the meeting was largely balanced in the next…

Misfits first picked up the score, then made G2 doubt in the third game, forcing an excellent Rasmus “caPs” Winther and his teammates to offer a high level score in teamfights – against Matus “Neon” Jakubcik in particular – to regain the advantage. the momentum found allowed the spring champion to conclude in the fourth heat, thus sending Misfits in the loser bracket of the double elimination table.

At the height of these play offs, the formation of Vetheo must now win against the winner of Fnatic – Excel (which will take place this Sunday evening, from 5 p.m.) to claim the last European place at the Worlds. The success of G2, on the other hand, qualifies MAD Lions and the Belgian Yasin “Nisqy” Dincerhanged on the result of the day, at the Worlds, this fall.
