Esport – Rocket League: Team BDS and Karmine Corp will face each other in the quarterfinals of the World Cup

French-speaking fans in the arena of Fort Worth (Texas, USA) exulted this Saturday evening, witnessing the unexpected triumph of Karmine Corp against the Saudis of Team Falcons in the half of the lower bracket of the World (Rocket League Championship Series). With this victory, the French club got back into the race for the World Cup after its crushing defeat against Furia on Wednesday evening.

Only one French team for the Top 4

Unfortunately, the draw doesn’t always get it right. Indeed, Team BDS and Karmine Corp will compete for the place in the semi-finals of the World Rocket League this Sunday evening. And this time, no repechage: the loser will be eliminated from the tournament.

While Karmine Corp is aoutsider in this competition, Team BDS, another French team in the tournament, revenge to take after his failure at London major last month. The team have dominated their opponents in their two group matches, proving that they will be a strong opponent to advance to the final.

But if Karmine keeps the face he showed on Saturday night against the Falcons – high precision play and ironclad concentration – he could be a surprise.

Meanwhile, the third French representative, SMPR Esports, was dispatched to the lower bracket by Moist Esports, great contender for the World title, in a little disputed match (4-0) last Thursday.

A result that came as no surprise, as the team of Frenchman Axel “Vatira” Touret took to the prestigious stage with confidence after having lifted the London Major’s trophy last month. It was without encountering much resistance that he pocketed his place in the quarterfinals, where he will be the favorite against the Brazilians of Furia.

For its part, SMPR Esports has not found the key to snatch its place and survive the lower bracket : he came out of the race losing against NRG (1-4) this Saturday. But this World Top 12 remains an honorable result which saves a season of lackluster results.
