First encouraging day this Friday for the French on the circuit of Aragon. At the end of the two free practice sessions, Fabio Quartararo, who was afraid of suffering with his Yamaha, is doing quite well, with the second fastest time, only 74 thousandths behind the fastest rider, Jorge Martin (Ducati, 1′ 47”402). Johann Zarco, also on a Ducati, is third, 10 hundredths behind the Spaniard.
The first ten drivers are held in less than five tenths, that is to say as the gaps are small on the Spanish track and as the places on the grid will be difficult to get. Pecco Bagnaia, Quartararo’s first rival in the Championship (30 points behind), set the 5th time, 23 hundredths.
For his return to the handlebars of his Honda, three and a half months after his operation on his right arm, Marc Marquez reassured himself of his potential, with the 8th time, at 35 hundredths. This is much better than his teammate in the official Honda team, Pol Espargaro, 23rd at 1”341.
