Involved in a clash with Aleix Espargaro on the 5th round of the Dutch GP on Sunday, and found guilty by the race marshals, Fabio Quartararo received a penalty for the next round, at Silverstone in early August after the summer break. The Frenchman will have to make a long lap, which should make him lose a few seconds and undermine his chances of success in Great Britain. On his Instagram and Twitter accountsthe reigning world champion reacted on Monday, quite ironically, to his sanction.
“So… A long lap for the next race. Now you can’t attempt an overtake because they think you’re too ambitious. Since the start of the season, other riders have caused “race incidents”, but apparently mine was too dangerous. I commend the commissioners for the incredible job they have done. Next time I won’t attempt any overtaking so as not to take the risk of being penalised. Happy holidays to all and see you in Silverstone! »
