The third free practice session in Valence on Saturday morning made it possible to define the ten drivers who qualified directly, based on the cumulative time of the three sessions, for Q2. And the two protagonists for the world title will avoid the stress of the repechages.
Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), the Championship leader with 258 points, set the 9th fastest time, and Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), second with 23 points, the 5th fastest time. The best cumulative time is for Jack Miller (Ducati), in 1’29″921. The first ten are held in less than five tenths. Among them, we also find Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia, 7th), Brad Binder (KTM, 3rd ), Johann Zarco (Ducati, 2nd), Jorge Martin (Ducari, 8th) or Marc Marquez (Honda, 6th).
The session was marked by numerous falls, in particular that of Marco Bezzecchi from the first minutes, the Italian’s Ducati catching fire. Darryn Binder, Raul Fernandez, Enea Bastianini, Bred Binder, Takaaki Nakagami and Maverick Vinales also went down.
