After Jerez, Le Mans and the German Grand Prix last week, Francesco Bagnaia took his fourth pole position of the season on Saturday at the TT circuit in Assen. The Italian driver even offered the absolute record of the circuit (1’31”504), beaten just before by Jorge Martin, Mario Bezzecchi and Fabio Quartararo. However in difficulty during free practice 3 and 4, Ducati was able to solve these problems to let Bagnaia, decidedly formidable in the time-attack, do the rest.
Fabio Quartararo will have tried everything in his second run but the tricolor world champion failed 116 thousandths from Bagnaia. Without regrets : “I did an extraordinary lap but I couldn’t do more, he declared at the microphone of Canal +. I really did my best. But 2nd place suits me very well. I like it and we know that our race pace is good. »
The astonishing Jorge Martin on the Ducati-Pramac (1’31”798) finds a front row that he had not occupied since the GP of the Americas in Austin on April 10th. Unlike his teammate, Johann Zarco saw his fears in the dry confirmed. He will start Sunday from the 3rd row with the 7th time of Q2 (1’32”175).
The GP will take place on Sunday at 2 p.m.
