Hand – Champions Trophy – Nantes wins the Champions Trophy by dominating Paris-SG

The first title of the 2022-2023 season is for Nantes. Le H won the Champions Trophy against Paris-SG on Saturday in Poitiers (37-33), its second lifted in the event after that of 2017, already against the team from the capital (32-26).

Grégory Cojean, the former assistant who succeeded Alberto Entrerrios this summer (left for Limoges), ideally began his term as head coach. His team (qualified as winners of the last League Cup) imposed a frantic pace on the Parisian French champions who gave in at the end, handicapped by their lack of rotations.

New goalkeeper Pesic shone

Nantes made the difference in the last quarter of an hour thanks in particular to several saves by the new Croatian goalkeeper Ivan Pesic. After the round of 16 of the Coupe de France in Tremblay (Proligue) on Tuesday, they will start the Liqui Moly Starligue season on Friday September 9 at the H Arena against Chambéry.

The Parisians, who will travel to Strasbourg in the Coupe de France on Tuesday, will play their first Championship match in Nîmes on Sunday, September 11.
