Ian Osborne new first shareholder of Brive, alongside Vivendi

The shareholders of Brive Rugby SAS voted this Monday, August 29, unanimously, in favor of a capital increase allowing Ian Osborne to become the club’s largest shareholder. Co-founder and CEO of Hedosophia, an international investment fund supporting companies in the Internet and tech world, Osborne is described by the CAB Rugby press release as a rugby enthusiast, introduced to the club by Yannick Bolloré, president of the Vivendi Supervisory Board.

The ambition of this contribution to the capital is to accelerate the development of the club and to hoist it among the best formations of the Top 14. “I am delighted to invest personally in Brive – in a club, in a sport, and in a region that I love, said the new leader. CA Brive is a unique club. It plays a major role in Corrèze life and occupies a special place in the imagination of French rugby. The Top 14 is a remarkable competition and French rugby, both at club and national level, is at a very exciting turning point in its history. My many visits last season to Brive reinforced my conviction that the supporters are the best in France and that they deserve their club to regain the glory of the past. I will be a proactive long-term shareholder. In addition to strengthening the team, I intend to invest in the infrastructure of the club, including in the remarkable formation which will help to bring out the next Brive icons. »
