A week after having dismissed Steve Nash from office, the Brooklyn Nets are holding their coach for the rest of the NBA season. It is ultimately Jacque Vaughn (47), who has been acting since the departure of the Canadian technician. Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka, currently under internal suspensionwas also mentioned.
Vaughn, an NBA professional for 12 years (including a stint with the Nets from 2004 to 2006, when they were based in New Jersey), had been an assistant coach in Brooklyn for six seasons. Twice, he was interim at the Nets: in ten regular season matches (seven wins) and four in the play-offs in the spring of 2020. Then, for a week, after Nash’s dismissal.
Jacque Vaughn has coached Brooklyn in its last four outings, for a record of two wins and as many losses. The Nets are currently ranked 11th in the Eastern Conference, with four wins against seven losses. They will play Wednesday at home against their neighbors the New York Knicks. This will be the first clash of the season between the two New York franchises.
