Jean-Pierre Mortagne, great voice of sport in Nord-Pas-de-Calais, is dead

He will have accompanied several generations of listeners for forty years, commenting with passion and enthusiasm on the matches of Lens and Lille, but also many other sports such as basketball and of course cycling, since he had covered the Tour of France 27 times. Jean-Pierre Mortagne, emblematic figure of Frequence Nord then of France Bleu Nord, died on Wednesday November 9 at the age of 74.

“Mumuche” began his professional career at The voice of the North in the early 1970s, before happily appearing on the radio, where his comments, sometimes tinged with a slight regional chauvinism, were very popular with listeners and supporters in Nord-Pas-de-Calais.

Very warm with his colleagues, especially all those who made their debut at his side, never stingy with an anecdote or a memory of incredible travel, Jean-Pierre Mortagne retired a few years ago.

The Team sends its condolences to his family and loved ones.
