Hard blow for the Philadelphia 76ers. Pivot Joel Embiid, injured Saturday night in his team’s loss (112-109) against the Minnesota Timberwolves, is suffering from a sprained left foot. He is expected to miss the next two games against Brooklyn on Tuesday and against Charlotte on Wednesday. Then his injury will then be reassessed.

This season, Joel Embiid is averaging 32.3 points, 10.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game. The five-time All-Star won the NBA’s leading scorer title last season with 30.6 points per game.

His teammates James Harden and Tyrese Maxey also suffered foot injuries. Harden has not played since November 2 due to a sprained right foot, while Maxey is expected to miss three to four weeks of competition with a small fracture in his left foot.
