Montpellier goalkeeper Jonas Omlin, who has been absent for a fortnight due to a sprained left ankle, resumed training on Tuesday afternoon with the Hérault team about ten days before the start of the World Cup in Qatar.
“Jonas resumed on Tuesday. This Thursday, he did the full session with the group. He is in good spirits.” said Montpellier coach Romain Pitau, who succeeded Olivier Dall’Oglio. Omlin (28, 4 caps) has recovered from a sprained left ankle contracted on Saturday October 22 against Lyon (1-2). He had been replaced shortly before half-time by Bingourou Kamara, who also acted in Rennes (3-0) and Clermont (1-1).
Retained with Switzerland
Omlin is therefore applying for a starting position within the workforce of Montpellier who will face Reims on Sunday at La Mosson during the 15th day of Ligue 1, the last before the World Cup (November 20 – December 18). Montpellier, ranked in 14th place with two points ahead of the first relegated, will play an important match there.
