Kawhi Leonard and Paul George (Los Angeles Clippers) still injured

The Los Angeles Clippers (6th in the Western Conference) could have done without it. While the fight for qualifying in the play-offs is very tight in the West, the team of Frenchman Nicolas Batum will have to do without its two best assets for… an indefinite period. Absent during the defeat of their franchise on Wednesday night against the Warriors (124-107), Kawhi Leonard and Paul George have more serious injuries than expected.

The first sprained his ankle Monday in the last quarter while trying to counter a Jazz shot (121-114 victory for the Clippers). “I saw the action. It was a little more serious than we thought, explained his trainer Tyronn Lue, according to comments reported by ESPN. “He’s fine, feeling better, but we don’t have a return date yet,” he announced, while the player wanted to be reassuring at the start of the week. Leonard is not spared from injuries, having already missed several matches with a right knee problem at the end of October.

Concerning Paul George, absent two matches in a row because of a right hamstring injury, Tyronn Lue has, again, not communicated a precise date for his return.

The Clippers also can’t count on rear Luke Kennard (calf) for four games, as they prepare to host Denver on Friday, the Indiana Pacers on Sunday, then move to Portland on Tuesday.
