It’s not good to lead 2-1 going into added time in Italy this weekend. After the disappointment of Inter Milan on Saturday night against Monza (2-2)it was Lazio Rome who conceded a draw by the same score this Sunday against Empoli.
Everything started well for the teammates of Felipe Anderson who opened the scoring quickly thanks to the Brazilian winger (1-0, 2nd). Following a tribute to former glory Sinisa Mihajlovic, died at the end of the year, Maurizio Sarri’s men even scored a second goal just after the break on a clever ball stung by Zaccagni (2-0, 54th). As they headed for an easy victory, Lazio then scuttled themselves.
On a well-conducted counter, Francesco Caputo sounded the revolt for Empoli, then discreet until then (2-1, 83rd). The visitors even ended up equalizing thanks to Marin’s superb strike in added time (2-2, 90th + 3). A blow for Lazio, which still does not win in 2023 and lets slip the top 4. In the event of victory this evening against AC Milan, its neighbor, AS Roma, could even take fifth place from it in the ranking.
