After having announced the extension of Marco Bezzecchi in 2023 at VR46, Valentino Rossi’s team has also confirmed its second Italian driver, Luca Marini. “It is important to bring continuity to this project with Ducati, which is behind us to achieve good results and compete for the podium at the end of the season.commented Marini. We are a rookie team, this is the first year we’ve all worked together, and we’ll continue to apply this method to shine in 2022 and in the future with Vale, whom I thank for this opportunity, and the VR46 Riders Academy who always support me. »

In addition, Team LCR has confirmed Takaaki Nakagami for an additional season. The Japanese was at one point in competition with his compatriot Ai Ogura, who is fighting for the Moto2 title, but the latter preferred to wait before moving up to MotoGP. 16th in the Championship with 46 points, Nakagami, who is in his fifth season with LCR, is the second best Honda rider behind Marc Marquez, which says a lot about the difficulties of this bike this season.
