At the end of the 358 km of special during the 6th stage (Ha’il-Riyadh), Luciano Benavides won his first victory on this Dakar 2023, still as uncertain in the motorcycle category. The Argentinian became the seventh different winner in as many days of racing. The Argentine Husqvarna rider swallowed a shortened course but still filled with sand and dunes in 3h14’38”.

He won with a 1’3” lead over Skyler Howes (Husqvarna), who nevertheless came out of the day strengthened by having increased his lead in the general classification. The American is still in the lead on an unchanged podium where Toby Price (KTM) occupies 2nd place at 3’32” and Kevin Benavides (KTM) 3rd at 7′.

Winner of the 5th stage, Adrien Van Beveren finished 11th this Friday at 4’27”. In the standings, he is in 5th position with 12’18” behind the lead.
