Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich) “again on fire”

After four weeks of absence, captain Manuel Neuer carried out his return in goal for Bayern Munich Saturday on the lawn of the Olympic stadium in Berlin, for a victory against Hertha (3-2) which allowed Munich residents to take the lead. “I’m glad to be back, savored the 2014 world champion on Sunday on the Bavarian club’s website. I would have been happy with a game without conceding a goal, but of course there was a bit of excitement for the spectators. I was involved relatively early because I was called upon very early. I was immediately on fire again”.

Injured in the left shoulder and absent the last seven matches (three in the Champions League, three in the Championship and one in the German Cup), Neuer returned to the pitch and some of the attention was on him on Saturday afternoon. A superb fingertip save in the 27th minute reassured all Bayern and Nationalmannschaft supporters, as the World Cup in Qatar is fast approaching (Germany’s first match on November 23 against Japan).
