Napoli dominates Udinese and consolidates its leading position

Despite a scare at the end of the match, Napoli added one more victory to their long series in the league on Saturday. Luciano Spalletti’s men beat Udinese at home (3-2) and recorded an 11th straight success in Serie A. Undefeated since the start of the season, Victor Osimhen and his teammates perfectly finished this first phase of the Championship which will resume at the beginning of January, after the truce linked to the World Cup.

Naples quickly opened the scoring by the essential Osimhen, top scorer in Serie A, who scored his 9th goal by heading a cross from Eljif Elmas (15th). Stunned, the visitors then lost their striker Gerard Deulofeu, who left the field in tears, visibly hit in one knee (22nd). This injury did not soften the Neapolitans who doubled the bet just before the break by Piotr Zielinski, author of a superb goal (31st), the third of his season.

Passer on the first goal, Elmas allowed his team to take off. Served by former Marseillais André-Frank Zambo Anguissa, the Macedonian in turn deceived Marco Silvestri (58th, 3-0) and did not go far from the double but the Udinese goalkeeper repelled his superb volley ( 61st).

Udinese did not give up and scored two goals in three minutes through Ilija Nestorovski (79th) then Lazar Samardzic (82nd). Under pressure, Napoli resisted and logically exulted at the final whistle aware that they will spend the winter warm, at the top of Serie A with an eleven point lead for the moment on their dolphins, Lazio, who will move on the ground of Juventus, and AC Milan which will host Fiorentina, this Sunday.
