This is sad news for the Clermont club. After its defeat against Stade Français (24-18) on Saturday, ASM has lost a key player in its team. Released shortly before the end of the first meeting of the Top 14 season, French international Rabah Slimani suffered a ruptured biceps tendon in his left arm. He was successfully operated on Tuesday at the Chataigneraie de Beaumont clinic by Doctor Jean-Baptiste Cassio.
The 32-year-old pillar will be out for four months before being able to step onto the rugby pitch again, as his club announced in a statement on Wednesday. Jono Gibbes, ASM coach, specifies that “the opportunity to study the market for a possible medical joker in this position” is not ruled out.
