Under the rain of a noisy Ibrox Park, PSV Eindhoven had a good draw against Glasgow Rangers (2-2) on Tuesday in the first leg of the Champions League. The former Toulousain Sangaré opened the scoring for the Dutch, on a second ball after a corner (37th). A short-lived advantage: rookie Colak, preferred to Morelos, equalized three minutes later after a magnificent collective action with a touch of the ball. Pushed by their public, the Scots took the advantage in the 70th thanks to a blunder from Benitez (ex-Nice) on a distant free kick from Lawrence. Full of energy, thanks in particular to Gakpo, PSV equalized in the 77th minute on a header from Obispo.
A nice reward for the men of Ruud Van Nistelrooy, who had great pleasure in meeting his former teammate in the selection, Giovanni Van Bronckhorst, coach of the Rangers. The second leg is scheduled for August 24, at the hot Philips Stadion. The Scots will have to be very strong if they want to return to the Champions League group stage for the first time since 2010.
