A few hours later to have been transferred from the Utah Jazz – where he had been playing since 2013, when he entered the NBA – to the Minnesota Timberwolves, Rudy Gobert posted a message on his Twitter account. The French pivot wanted to pay tribute to Jazz, its supporters and the people of Utah.
” utah!!! I was just a kid from France when I arrived here nine years ago, but I felt cared for and supported from day one.wrote Gobert. I grew as a man and as a player under your eyes and I am grateful for it every moment. Utah and its community will always have a special place in my heart. Thanks ! The journey continues… Lots of love. »
Under the colors of the Jazz, Rudy Gobert was voted best defender of the NBA season three times and selected three times for the All-Star Game. In the play-offs, however, he and his team never made it past the conference semi-finals. Gobert played 611 games for the Salt Lake City franchise, averaging 12.4 points, 11.7 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game.
