Samoa beat England to advance to World Cup final

At home, England were ultra-favorites in the second semi-final of the World Cup on Saturday against Samoa. But the players from the Pacific Islands have achieved a real feat, they who had never qualified for the last four of the competition (27-26).

While the two teams were tied (20-20) approaching the end of regulation time, the Samoan Crichton cracked an interception to put his team on the way to the feat (26-20 , 75th). But, pushed by the entire Emirates Stadium, the English managed to equalize in the dying minutes (26-26, 78th).

In extra time, the first team to score effectively earned their ticket to the final against the Australian ogres. In that game, Crichton’s drop came to crucify English hopes (27-26). Nine years after the elimination of its World Cup by two points against New Zealand in the semi-finals, the English stop once again at the gates of the final on their land.

For their part, the Samoans will therefore aim for the coronation next Saturday against Australia, the most successful country in the competition (11) and double title holder.
