The Spaniard Alex Palou, 5th in the IndyCar Championship this season, joins the McLaren team as a reserve driver for the 2023 financial year. Already engaged in North American competition, the 25-year-old driver will combine the year next races in IndyCar and his role as a reserve in the British team when the schedules allow it.
Alex Palou took part this season in free practice on Friday at the United States Grand Prix in Austin. He also took part in McLaren’s driver development test programme.
