The 2023-2024 Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 calendar adopted

We know the main dates for the 2023-2024 season after the adoption of the general calendar by the League Board on Wednesday. Ligue 1 will start on the weekend of August 12 and 13, 2023 during a season which will mark the transition to 18 clubs with therefore 34 days. Only one day will be scheduled during the week (17th) and will be played on Wednesday December 20, just before the start of the winter break. The resumption will take place with the 18th day scheduled for the weekend of January 13 and 14, 2024. The last day of Ligue 1 for the 2023-2024 season has been placed on Saturday May 18, 2024.

In Ligue 2, the season will resume a week earlier, on the weekend of August 5, 2023 and will end like L1, on Saturday May 18, 2024 on the 38th and last day. To end the season, unlike the current one, it will be the return of the play-offs: play-off 1, between the 4th and the 5th, will take place on Tuesday May 21, 2024 and the winner of this match will face the 3rd in Ligue 2 for play-off 2, Friday May 24, 2024.

Finally, the accession play-off, against the 16th in Ligue 1 will take place on Thursday May 30, 2024 (go) and Sunday June 2, 2024 (return). The entire general calendar of competitions will be published this Thursday, November 10 following its final adoption by the FFF Executive Committee.
