As the 2022 season ended Sunday in Valencia, the French GP has been named Grand Prix of the year 2022 by IRTA, the association of teams present in MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3. A distinction that rewards the entire show offered at Le Mans during the weekend of May 15.
Among the criteria that counted for this distinction is the attendance at the Bugatti circuit, where 110,000 people attended to the victory of Enea Bastianini Sunday May 15. This is the highest number of spectators recorded this season. Last year, the Valencia GP obtained this award.
In 2023, the Grand Prix de France will take place on May 12, 13 and 14, still at Le Mans. The event will coincide with the 1000th GP in history.
