After the third-line signatures Arthur Iturria (Clermont) and Remi Bourdeau (Stade Rochelais), Aviron Bayonnais could recruit a new third-line for next season: Italian international Jake Polledri (27). He could have already committed to the Bayonne club last summer. Everything was almost complete, but the leaders of the Basque club preferred to give up because the player, of English origin, was injured in his knee.
Selected with Italy for the Tournament
According to our information, Jake Polledri (19 sel.), who can play in all positions on the third line, is still in the sights of Aviron Bayonnais. After a few matches with the Gloucester reserve team, he reappeared with the Premiership team. And despite his low playing time this season, he was called up by Kieran Crowley, Italy coach, to prepare for the 2023 6 Nations Tournament. Jake Polledri could thus face France on Sunday in Rome (4 p.m.). A good tournament would undoubtedly allow him to definitively convince the Bayonne recruiters to offer him a new contract for next season.
