While the Bordelais returned to training on Monday, the Girondin club formalized eight recruits for next season. Among them, two Clermontois who participated in the summer tour of the XV of France in Japan, namely the center Tani Vili, who has signed up for three seasons, and the pillar Sipili Falatea, 25, who will evolve alongside his nephew Yoram Moefana in the next two.
Toulouse’s Antoine Miquel (third row, 28) – who signed a two-year contract – and Zack Holmes (opener, 32) also join UBB, the latter arriving as Matthieu Jalibert’s understudy. In addition to Miquel, Christophe Urios has set his sights on Australian international Caleb Timu, 28 (2 selections), who passed through Montpellier from 2019 to 2021, in the third line position.
Finally, two other pillars have signed for two years: the right-hander Christopher Vaotoa, 25, recruited last season but loaned to Montauban, and the left-hander Ugo Boniface, 23 and U20 world champion in 2018 (ex-Bayonnais), in plus Pretoria Bulls winger Madosh Tambwe. Best jumper and second player having traveled the most distance ball in hand (1,055 m) during the last United Rugby Championship, he will have to make people forget Ben Lam, who left for Montpellier.
