Uini Atonio (La Rochelle) absent for three weeks, Pierre Bourgarit six to eight weeks

Uini Atonio may well miss the start of the Six Nations Tournament, which will begin for the Blues with a match in Italy on February 5. As revealed by RMC this Tuesday, the right pillar of Stade Rochelais and the France team is unavailable for three weeks. It was limped out at the end of the first period against Toulouse (30-7) last Saturday in Top 14.

Victim of a sprained right knee, Atonio, who had an MRI at the start of the week, will also miss his team’s next two Champions Cup matches (against Ulster on Saturday then at Northampton a week later).

Danty still waiting

Also out on injury against Stade Toulousain, Pierre Bourgarit will be away from the lawns for longer. The posterior cruciate ligament of the international hooker’s left knee was affected. He will be unavailable for six to eight weeks, which should cause him to miss a large part of the Tournament.

The La Rochelle infirmary is currently very full (Yoan Tanga, Matthias Haddad-Victor, Thomas Lavault, Will Skelton etc.). Jonathan Danty, also an international, injured his right knee in Perpignan ten days ago. He will also miss the start of the Tournament. The center has not yet passed new examinations that will allow it to determine its exact unavailability.
