W9 stops “100% Foot” for its Europa League evenings

After a three-year break, W9 has been broadcasting the best Europa League (or Europa League Conference) poster since last season. A match co-broadcast by Canal+ Sport, while RMC Sport offers all the other matches of the two European competitions.

But this season, according to our information, W9 has made the decision to no longer offer 100% Football, the magazine framing its European Cup poster. The show, hosted by Marie Portolano, accompanied by a band of columnists, will not return with the resumption of these two European Cups on Thursday, September 8. The TNT channel will broadcast Nantes-Olympiakos that evening.

W9’s decision linked to the identity of the clubs involved

The decision would have been motivated by the absence of big teams, like Lyon or Marseille, in the competition this season. The channel would indeed expect smaller audiences with the teams qualified in C3 and C4 (Monaco, Rennes, Nantes and Nice) and would therefore have chosen not to budget for the production of 100% Football, at least during the group stage.

W9 will think about relaunching it in the spring, depending on the course of the French teams, especially since OM and/or PSG could be donated to the Europa League if they finished third in their group in the Champions League.
