Work on the FC Chambly stadium authorized to resume

This is the end of a long legal battle. FC Chambly still could not take advantage of its new enclosure, the Walter Luzi stadium, named after one of the club’s co-founders. Supposed to be delivered at the end of summer 2020, the stadium has still not been completed due to numerous appeals from the Association for the development of the Esches valley (AAVE), opposed to the project for environmental reasons. .

After two years of struggle, the club won their case. The Administrative Court of Amiens rejected, this Friday, the last appeal of the opponents and authorized the work to go to completion when they had been completed at 90% since May 2021. The delivery would be hoped for the match against Blois on the 1st november.

The “victory of wisdom over inhumanity”

In a statement shared on the club’s networks, Fulvio Luzi did not hide his relief after this decision. “The victory of wisdom over inhumanitylaunches the president of the club back down to National 2. The Walter Luzi stadium is finally going to end, I welcome that, I thank David Lazarus, the mayor of Chambly, and Marc Virion, his deputy, as well as their teams. »

The leader also takes the opportunity to recall the consequences of two years of legal struggle on the situation of FC Chambly. “Since then, FC Chambly Oise has fallen by two divisions consecutively, its budget has increased in 13 months from 8 M€ to 2 M€. This led to layoffs. I had to fire remarkable people, working with great skills, my nights were very difficult. »

Before concluding with an outstretched hand: “Now, those who supported this ignominy must know that politically, they are not going to fall on an ingrate. The Walter Luzi stadium is tomorrow! Let’s get positive and come together, with all those who love this atypical club. »
