World Cup 2022: Qatar beats Albania in warm-up match

Host country for the 2022 World Cup (November 20-December 18), Qatar won against Albania (1-0) in a warm-up match played on Wednesday in Marbella, Spain. Almoez Ali, one of the spearheads of this little-known selection, gave the advantage to Qatar by transforming a penalty following a foul in the area hotly contested by the Albanian players (36th).

In a rather balanced match, both teams had chances, without finding fault. Despite the push from the Albanian Eagles at the end of the match, Félix Sanchez’s team managed the opposing strong moments well and scored a fourth victory in a row.

4/4 in preparation matches

With this short success in a match added late to their program, the Asian champions of nations in 2019 indeed complete their preparation camp in Spain with full confidence, where they have already disposed of Panama (2-1) on Saturday in Marbella, after beating Guatemala (2-0) on October 23 in Malaga and Honduras (1-0) on October 27 still in Marbella.

Qatar will kick off their World Cup against Ecuador on November 20 and then face Senegal on November 25 before the Netherlands, their last Group A opponent, on November 29.
