World Cup: the Blues arrive Monday noon at Clairefontaine

The Blues are expected Monday, at noon, in Clairefontaine, for the first day of their gathering which they dream of stretching until December 18, day of the World Cup final, in Doha. They will perform a light session – especially those who will have played the day before with their respective clubs -, at the end of the afternoon, at the national football center, before tackling serious things the next day. A little earlier, Didier Deschamps and a player will have held their first press conference.

They will therefore be 25 this afternoon, at the castle, not all of them being in the same state of form. The big question will necessarily concern Raphaël Varane, who has still not participated in a collective session with Manchester United since his right thigh injury, October 22. If Didier Deschamps showed a certain optimism last Wednesday about his vice-captain, the next few days will tell a little more about his thigh.

Kimpembe entered the game, Konaté preserved

In the same way, Presnel Kimpembe, came into play Sunday against Auxerre (5-0), will see how his Achilles tendon reacted. Ibrahima Konaté, for his part, did not play with Liverpool against Southampton as a precaution following a knee injury against Tottenham the previous weekend. The Milanese, Olivier Giroud and Theo Hernandez, were involved in the entirety of their club’s victory over Fiorentina (2-1).

All should, however, appear in the official photo, which will take place on Tuesday, at the end of the morning, before a last training session in the Yvelines, at the end of the afternoon. The reigning world champions will fly Wednesday morning to Doha where they will carry out their first training session on Thursday.
